RABBIT STEW
The wind still blows
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
The wall clock ticks louder than ever before
Because of the silence you left behind
I trail the empty graves for salvation
Only the mounted crosses carres my empty desires
And the rising dust winds wipe my tears
I try to end my lamentations
But this end is where I begin
My heart dances to the tune of sorrow's melody
And the eyes Navigating through your endless generosity
The ecstasy of your smile was an epitome of beauty
Alas! Your flourishing fragrance is now six feet deep
Joy is vanquished, we dance to sorrow's beat
The wind still blows
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
Your picture still in the frame
As you trail the lanes of worlds yonder
The terrestrial shores unknown
I sit painted in ashes and black dirt
Trading myself for memories
Acknowledging your departure
My heart draws cold and cold
The me in me drifts away slowly
Drowning in the depths of sadness
And the heights of despair
As I strike my eye on the pictures framed on the wall
I rekindle the memories
And I wonder how you live over there
Because here:
The wind still blows
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
Your picture still in the frame
And I still dine on rabbit stew
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
The wall clock ticks louder than ever before
Because of the silence you left behind
I trail the empty graves for salvation
Only the mounted crosses carres my empty desires
And the rising dust winds wipe my tears
I try to end my lamentations
But this end is where I begin
My heart dances to the tune of sorrow's melody
And the eyes Navigating through your endless generosity
The ecstasy of your smile was an epitome of beauty
Alas! Your flourishing fragrance is now six feet deep
Joy is vanquished, we dance to sorrow's beat
The wind still blows
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
Your picture still in the frame
As you trail the lanes of worlds yonder
The terrestrial shores unknown
I sit painted in ashes and black dirt
Trading myself for memories
Acknowledging your departure
My heart draws cold and cold
The me in me drifts away slowly
Drowning in the depths of sadness
And the heights of despair
As I strike my eye on the pictures framed on the wall
I rekindle the memories
And I wonder how you live over there
Because here:
The wind still blows
The dust still rises
The grass still grows
Your picture still in the frame
And I still dine on rabbit stew
