The fear of tomorrow

That little heart that knew no hate
That gentle soul that sure was fair

The game of life is rigged
It can not be won
Unless there is human sacrifice
Life gave the knife
But I slit his throat
Life dug the grave
But I buried him
Mother sorry for your loss
I just murdered your little boy
No guilt, no remorse
I blamed it all on life

That little heart that knew no hate
That gentle soul that sure was fair

At me the sun was laughing
For making moves to escape my shadow
At night the moon was smiling
Because tomorrow is coming
At dawn the hens joined the cocks in crowing
Because "tomorrow" didn't come alone
It came with nemesis
What have I done
I should have said no
I should have saved him
Maybe that would mean being poor
But I would have been poor and free
Maybe that would mean having no friends
But my conscience would have been with me
That little heart that knew no hate
That gentle soul that sure was fair
That little boy that died by my hands
That little boy was me.
