Where to oh Nigeria

Everyone in this vile life, the vile life of corruption

Chasing after power, wealth and greed,

We have yet again forgotten who we are

Proving our ancestors toil in vain,

No longer having hope for a better morrow.

From a child as tender as 3 to the aging man at 80

Our minds are all sly.

We no longer have a sense of patriotism,

The anthem we sing is all a lie.

The youths have gone wild and the leaders have gone mad

Craving for insatiable desires

Where to oh Nigeria? Where to?

If education is a key to success, that key is now outdated

The government encourage the youths on self empowerment

They are the ones confirming now education being a waste of time.

Where has our values and culture gone?

Where has the need for a reputable national image gone?

We borrow like beggars and give like misers to our own people.

Where to oh Nigeria? Where to?

Where are you headed to?!

To your destruction or eternal downfall?

We live in deprivation, hunger and thirst

With no room for rest.

Those who can't cope engage in false pursuits

Thinking themselves to be astute.

We can all but pray for salvation

For this life we live is an utter devastation.
