We are shadows

We are shadows of our lives,

Imagining who we long to be.

The sad truth is, some fade away,

Without a sun to set them free.

As daylight dims and twilight calls,

Our shadows stretch and slowly fall.

In the absence of the sun's embrace,

We lose our form, we lose our place.

Yet in this dance of light and shade,

A truth emerges, softly laid:

That even when the sun has set,

Our shadows linger, not forget.
