Arise

Twas in this weary land of mine,

I planted a seed like mustard.

Though minuscule yet it can bring forth a tree like Baobab.

They said,

I have no good in me again.

I feel numb because I have fell a million times.

Arise my soul, I say.

It's time to show the world

the golden gems in me.

I planted resilience

In the day of distress.

And now my tree bear diamonds and golds.

Never quit

"Success is when you fail to fail"  by Atanda Josiah

Hearken o ye comrades,
cease a breath of reasoning
Take a piece out of the crumbs of wisdom and eat —
Bitter in the mouth, sweeter in the belly
It's a mystery of life

The roads are not smooth,
there are thousands of potholes in the way.
But you can cross the road,
if you think you can
and you did.

Mind and action birth  determination.
Losing is not a failure,
if you have the determination not to fail.
It's a success in embryo,
you are close to your goal.

Move forward, fall and stand up.
Until you legs are firm to the ground,
never quit.

Bedbugs

Bedbugs—

those evil bloodsucking creatures,

miniature thirsty vampires.

Their body, like a baby cockroach

but they are true beast,

sharing your blood with you.

They'd sneak in a hidden place

in the day, but hunt for blood at night.

They're for things red.

Dangerous.
