The Man in my Youth

You brought out the best in me
Even in your distress, you chose to fall in love with my stress
You waited for years; a trait that is rare to bear
You manage to cope without losing hope
Oh, dear! You never gave up
And this is what thrilled me the most
I was the Zephyr in your empire; the gentle fire you desire
Shouldn't I give you all that is required?
Though, I was a little late to be your first date, now I want all of my last days to be with you
With you, I feel safe within every storm
I shall walk through valleys and conquer all without fears, knowing that you are by my side to guide me
Permit me to call you- the warrior that saves me from terror, the one that owns and defends my protectorate
Shouldn't I decorate you with all these praises?
Your kind is incomparable, irreplaceable and irreplicable
Your love is intoxicating; Why should I need an oxygen?
You chose me as your Queen, while you were yet to be called my King
You never cared of how I treated you
When you were sick of me, I never created an antidote
Rather, I caused you lots of trauma while you were acting the drama
That was how obsessed you were with me
Never for once have you made me feel void, rather you gave me a voice beyond all noise
Shouldn't I gaze into those eyes I can't avoid?
For those brown eyes of yours is my greatest attraction of distraction
A stare from them calms my entire foul
They are the spell that enchants my broken soul
Shouldn't I stay with your dazzling soul?
The fragrance from your skin smells sweet as the fume from a rose🌹, it keeps me fresh for the morning dose
It will always be the solace I mount to have peace; a peace with ease, a peace worth dying for
An unspeakable peace beyond description
Shouldn't it be a doctor's prescription?
Someday, we may fight and cry, but my love for you will never die
You will always be my inevitable muse
The one that understands my cry and waited for it to dry, the one that swept me off my feet and made me a new breed
You are the flower that trails and lightens my heart
The music that ding dongs in my head

My First Beautiful Beast

How did this happen? Tell me it's my mind playing tricks on me then I'll fix things quickly. I wished it was; it would have been a relief
For I would have taken a rain check to believe, but it's true! It's true that you left
No wonder I feel alone
Tears run down my cheek every now and then, for I'm still trying to fathom what I did wrong
I tried to reach out to you but you seem to be looking elsewhere
I became speechless, useless, and helpless
All my efforts turn out less at your side because you never wanted to stay
You chide me for no reason, not minding the season
What did I do wrong?
I thought it was due to your daily stress, since you never had rest
So I hushed my lips to avoid the rush
You still continued to yell at me without revealing the woman in your shell
Look me in the eyes and tell me you are under her spell, and stop all this noisy bell, for I know that you're trying to push me out in a rush
That is why you see me as disgust
Your ego succeeded in sending your Queen away; a mission accomplished; I became astonished
Why did you leave me? We spoke few minutes ago
You didn't say goodbye, let alone a last kiss
You just called off and hissed
Why are you this cruel?
You graced me with the disgrace of rejection, while I took you as my reflection
I saw you as my peace within the storms, the shadow in my dark
I called you my everything because describing what you meant to me took my every breath
Rather you prefer to torture my heart and finally gave me despair beyond repair
My chair became a zone for my deepest thoughts
My bed was a crying point the streets was my maddest joint.
Where i always murmur like the bee without ceasing
I drenched everyday in pain; an unforgettable stain of my yes -today
Why can't I leave this rain of pain?
A pain that I won't still gain no matter what I say
I wished it was a dream, I would have screamed till it dims
Behold, it's nothing rather than a life discovery which had given a taint in my memory
I wonder why you inflict me with such misery?
This misery stocks like a ghost in the night
I hope it diminishes just as your love for me did
Knowing you was my greatest nightmare
A total depression never to be mentioned
You became my everyday torment
In every moment I was so miserable then
I regretted why I fell for you as my first beautiful beast!

You are the reason I go nuts by the day
You are the reason all the way
From the depth of my heart I love you
To the neath of the stars
It has always been you, just you alone my love
My love for you has grown strong and old and will never be cold
My love for you glitters like the moon and the stars in the sky

I've never imagined why your charm will harm the Queen of hearts, wanting to be armed by all King of hearts
I've never imagined that my feelings will glow and never be blown
You are the cause of my heart injury
You are the cause of it all
You are the reason my heart bleeds and refuse to wipe its tears

I thought you'll be the reason I smile from a mile. I thought you"ll be the reason I tend to live for a while
I never knew you'll be the essence of my headaches all the long
Day and night I crave for your love
A glimpse of your touch will make me whole again, but you never did hold me even for once
Why should I be wrong in my thoughts?
Why should I be drugged by your love?
Oh, how could that be?
That you never felt the pain in my brain which drain and took my breath away

Love has made me weary and dry like the rivers of the old
Love has turn my world upside down like the waves of the sea
My mind travels to the land of imaginations because of the craze for love
My mind like the fruit of the palm tree for sure it is going nuts
Love care less when I'm here but wants me there
It gives me a story to share and tell like that of a fairytale
Oh! What had love done again?
You make me sick and tired, even though I am wired by you
Most times I feel like letting go just to know that it is over but I refuse to be discouraged by the rage I feel within
When shall I see such a love that is pure and sure? When shall I see a love that will make me the gold in the mist of all fold? When will you make me bold?
For I long to be loved back
It will give me hope to endure the things I displeasure
Oh! When shall I see the love of my life?
I pray for that day to come soon so as to fly to the moon with thee

In my grave, I wish to be brave
To be free from the endless torture of your wretched love; to be free from psychological attack
I wish to free the mind from pain because you never understood the rhythm that was made

I cried endlessly each day to die in your arms, just to be told of the same old story
I wanted to be pricked by the feelings we shared; I never knew you pretended to love and care. Why should you dare to near me?
Why are you this heartless?
I took all the blames for your games because I thought it was my time for fame
I did all that because I was blinded by love, so I ignored the plays you displayed

I realized that no matter what you did to me, it can never change the feelings for you
Because the love I have for you is true
One time in my life did I feel joy, peace and strength! Never have I loved this way
I'm grateful you showed me the way
You are my first and last
You are my sense of joy
You will always be my everything in my everyday
Thank you for making me who I am today
Of course I learnt my lessons
I'm happy you taught me for years
And now, I'm a woman without fears!
